原来顺风顺水的银行职员樫村（仲村亨 饰）因为银行合并，命运发生转变，他辞去银行的工作，毅然接受投资公司老板山本（大谷亮平 饰）的委托，担任一家饮食集团的CFO，着手重建工作。
本剧的女主人公瑞莲（马苏饰），两岁便被一个生活无着的疍家女卖给了“万记渔栏”的老板万寿臣。聪明伶俐的小阿莲，深受万记老板娘何倩玉的喜爱。阿莲转眼长成美貌少女，与青梅竹马一起长大的男主人公--少爷万锦洪（杨紫茳饰）暗地里成了一对心心相印的恋人，而何倩玉也是乐见其成。但封建保守的万记渔栏老板万寿臣却是决不容许一个丫头成为自己的儿媳妇，他设计派万锦洪去香港送货，趁机将瑞莲嫁给了渔工陈四祥。
